Call for Poems

SPECTRUM 15: MISE EN SCENE

Send up to three poems on the subject of films/movies, totalling up to 150 lines in length including stanza breaks, and a 150 words or less bio in the body of an email message or attached in a Word file to donkingfishercampbell@gmail.com by June 2nd. No PDF's please. Poets published in Spectrum 15 will be invited to pick up their contributor's copies and read on Saturday, June 30th between 3 and 5 pm inside the backroom of the Santa Catalina Branch Library on 999 E. Washington Blvd.

Poets whose poems are selected will receive a free copy of the anthology at the publication reading on Sunday, April 8th between 2 and 4pm inside Beyond Baroque on 681 Venice Blvd in Venice. This will be a National Poetry Month event for the Soapbox Poets Open Mic.

Three Spectrum Poetry Contests!!!

SPECIAL EVENTS for the 2018 SAN GABRIEL VALLEY POETRY FESTIVAL celebrating National Poetry Month! All events will be held at the Santa Catalina Branch Library on 999 E. Washington Blvd. in Pasadena. DEADLINE FOR ALL THREE CONTESTS IS APRIL 7TH.

Saturday, April 7th, 3 to 5 pm - THE BIG OPEN reading hosted by birthday girl JACKIE CHOU and G.T. FOSTER! Every reader gets a prize. Gift cards, writing journals, donated books, etc.

Saturday, April 14th, 3 to 5 pm - THE BIG WRITE (Meet writing challenges, win prizes!) hosted by CALOKIE and KINGFISHER! Plus Cheap-to-enter SPECTRUM 2018 POETRY BROADSIDE CONTEST winner announced and featured. (To enter first send $1 via http://paypal.com to donkingfishercampbell@gmail.com, then email a poem up to 50 lines long to donkingfishercampbell@gmail.com by April 7th. Winner gets 25 copies of their poem broadsided at this event.)
